Finally summer break is over and things return to normal. Well, at least we make a poor attempt at normal. In this show we have a small news segment and a small Kickstarter report, followed by two game reviews. That's right... two!

Albert is finally back from vacation but now Julius is missing. This episode features the return of the guest host, Chris Hansen. In this episode Chris and I look at Frontline: D-Day, designed and published by Dan Verssen. This is a WW2 game in which you control individual soldiers fighting in the front line (hence the name). Albert also does a quick interview with Karl Fenner regarding Police Precinct, which is still on Kickstarter for a few days more.

In this latest episode, I cover Race for the Galaxy and it's expansion The Gathering Storm which added solo play to the game via a robot. I had the opportunity to play this thanks to a "Solitaire Games Around the World" event in which a copy of this game is being sent... around the world! I also look back at my favorite games this year and then look forward to the upcoming year.

This super episode is on a super game called Sentinels of the Multiverse. This is a super-hero card game designed for 3-5 players that is very fun solo. The expansions add an incredible amount of replayability to a game that brings a lot of replayability in the box. Add to that the opportunity for monthly challenges at the 1 Player Guild and this game is virtually guaranteed fun!

In this episode I revisit the now classic game Onirim. I covered the game on my very first episode and look at it again now that a 2nd edition has been released. The new edition, not only looks MUCH nicer, but includes an extra 4 expansions (plus an appendix). Not only that, but I talk with the designer, Shadi Torbey about this and the other Oniverse games.

This episode is on a cool deck building/area control game, Asgard's Chosen. This is a really neat hybrid that takes the best of both worlds and combines them into a fun game, albeit hard to learn, game. I also finally, way belatedly, announce the winners of the 1 Player Awards. However, if you follow the 1 Player Guild, and you should, this is all old news.

In this latest episode, I look at the game of Nations, a card drafting, resource management, worker placement kind of game. I also get to talk to one of the designers, Rustan Håkansson, one of the designers of the game. Nations is a big game and this is a big episode to go along with it!

Welcome back to the 1 Player podcast. I unexpectedly took a vacation from podcasting for the last few weeks so I've stayed busy and have a lot of fun playing Thunderstone Advance. This is a great dungeon crawling, deck building game for 1 to 4 players The game is a sequel to Thunderstone with streamlined rules, however it is compatible with the original game so you can get even more cards to play with now, if you have the original.

1P 052 - S.O.S. Titanic

This episode is on the new game by Bruno Cathala & Ludovic Maublanc. The game is a cooperative/solo game on the sinking of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912. However, this game is really just a variant of the classic solitaire card game which I just remembered is sometimes called Klondike...doh! Anyway, as I said, it is just a variant, but one that I found made the game MUCH better than the original. The theme and mechanics work very very well together and make this game much more than the sum of its parts.

I finally get around to reviewing Onirim's younger brother, Urbion, aka Equilibrion. The game is similar in style and simplicity, however it does have it's own distinct feel. Does the game hold up to it's legacy? It does for me.
