Julius meets up with Travis of the Low Player Count podcast to discuss our thoughts on the recent #GenCantSoloCon. We talk about what was played and how great the turn-out was. Thank you to all who attended.

Albert is finally back from vacation but now Julius is missing.  This episode features the return of the guest host, Chris Hansen.  In this episode Chris and I look at Frontline: D-Day, designed and published by Dan Verssen.    This is a WW2 game in which you control individual soldiers fighting in the front line (hence the name).  Albert also does a quick interview with Karl Fenner regarding Police Precinct, which is still on Kickstarter for a few days more.

In this announcement, Julius Besser and Travis Hill (of the Low Player Count podcast) announce the 2015 GenCan't Solo Con. Albert's on vacation, but Julius is joined by a special co-host, Chris Hansen, the Empressario of Print and Play. We talk about some new games and kickstarter projects, chat with the designer of Dark Dealings (currently on kickstarter), and review Quest Awakening of Melior. Then, we review Dead Men Tell No Tales, a coop pirate game, and talk about what is the most important part of a successful print-and-play game.

Episode 82 is here!  Julius and Albert have been pretty busy lately so this episode was very unplanned.  We do cover a bit of news followed by a short Kickstarter report.  Then we look at the 2015 1 Player gaming awards and our thoughts on them.  Then, we cover the cool little game Bullfrogs.  Gribbit.

This is the briefest episode in quite a while as we had to cut the Kickstarter Report short.  However, check out the history segment on the Reconquista followed by a review of the game.  Also, the Elevenses for One contest is resolved.

This episode, we have very little news, but still talk about some cool upcoming releases. We review two great little print and play games: Elevenses for One and X-Hour Xenostrike. We also talk with Morten Pederson, game and solo variant designer, about game design and solo gaming. 

In this latest episode our two hosts travel to the far reaches of the universe exploring strange new KS news, discover mysterious interviews and talk about Star Realms, the deck-building card game in a small box.

In this episode, we interview Jerry Hawthorne about solo gaming, solo playtesting, and his game Mice & Mystics. Albert and Julius review Mice & Mystics, talk about another new podcast, upcoming games, and the 2015 Solitaire Gaming Awards.

In yet another long episode, we take the opportunity to interview Chris Hansen, Jake Staines, Ryan Mayes, and Todd Sanders about the Solitaire PnP Contest in our annual Roundtable. We also review another previous contest entrant, Maquis. We introduce some new music, Julius chats about more SGOYT, and we talk about the news and upcoming games.

This episode, which came out very long, we discuss the very popular Mage Knight Board Game. We also discuss all of these Kickstarter projects coming out, even interviewing the designer of Mistfall. After the news and the board game review, Albert interviews Julius and we can delve a little bit deeper into his gamer history.

This episode is just full of exciting stuff.  First off, we meet the new co-host, Julius.  Then, Julius does an interview with Matt Leacock.  Mr Leacock has published a number of co-op games that are very solo friendly and now has a kickstarter going on for Thunderbirds, a co-op game based on the classic animated show.  We cover two games this time, Forbidden Island and Forbidden Desert!  That's something that has only happened once before in this podcast when I covered Lord of the Rings.  Finally, Julius introduces a new segment and I have a giveaway!

This episode I look at the game The Hunters: German U-Boats at War 1939-1943, if you want the full title.  This game is a simulation of being in charge of a u-boat during world war two.  The game is similar to the classic B-17 Queen of the Skies in that though the game play is very light and random it is full of historical flavor.

By request, this episode features Tiny Epic Galaxies as well as an interview with Michael Coe of Gamelyn Games and Scott Almes, Designer of the Tiny Epic Games (Tiny Epic Kingdoms, Tiny Epic Defenders, Tiny Epic Galaxies).  Tiny Epic Galaxies is currently on Kickstarter.  The campaign will end Saturday Feb. 7.

In this latest episode, I cover Race for the Galaxy and it's expansion The Gathering Storm which added solo play to the game via a robot.  I had the opportunity to play this thanks to a "Solitaire Games Around the World" event in which a copy of this game is being sent... around the world!  I also look back at my favorite games this year and then look forward to the upcoming year.
